Businesses | Pulp | Jacareí mill
The Jacarei mill is in São Paulo State and has a production capacity of 1.1 million tons of bleached pulp per year, 91% of which is exported.
The mill was acquired from the former Papel Simão in 1992 and its production capacity was boosted in 2003. It was the first mill in the world to produce 1 million tons a year of bleached pulp with a single digester, in 2005, and repeated this production record for the next three years.
To transport pulp produced at the mill, Fibria maintains two exclusive terminals sat the port of Santos, shipping almost 2 million tons of pulp a year made at the Jacareí and Três Lagoas mills.
The processes at the Jacarei mill use energy generated from renewable natural resources and respect the principles of economic, social and environmental sustainability.
- First plant in the world to produce 1 million tons a year of bleached pulp with one single digester (2005).
- Port of Santos: two exclusive terminals ship pulp produced at the Três Lagoas (Mato Grosso dos Sul State) and Jacareí (São Paulo State) mills.
